DJ Carnage Drops Powerful Music Video for 'Letting People Go'

DJ and producer, Carnage, has just dropped the emotional music video for ‘Letting People Go’.

The moving video is based on Carnage’s family who left Nicaragua to enter America for a better life.

The video shows a family travelling from Nicaragua to Guatemala, Monterrey Mexico, Mexican Desert, Mexico U.S. Border to Texas – Mexico Border. 

They are then caught and we see them taken to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Carnage says: 

“My family left Nicaragua, travelled through Guatemala and entered America as illegal immigrants to create a better life for me. We have now achieved the American dream. This is my story but I want to share it with all of you as inspiration that as immigrants, we can do anything.”

The track features indie music group, Prinze George, and Carnage said on YouTube:

“I dedicate #LPG to my grandmother… just like a lot of mothers dealing with the atrocities at the border she also had her children took from her which included my own mother when crossing the border into McAllen, TX. I also dedicate this song to #ELPASO, The #RGV, ABQ and to all the families that have been split in border towns all over the US.”

Carnage is a self-made artist, famous for his impact on the hip-hop and dance industry.

He has collaborated with artists such as Avicii, Mac Miller, Rick Ross and even featured on Migos’ breakthrough record, ‘Bricks’, in 2015.

Carnage has seen huge success with hits, ‘Down For Me’, and ‘I Like Tuh’.

In fact, both hits collectively accumulated over 160 million Spotify Streams.

He has recently been hanging out with Canadian rapper, Drake, joining him on stage in Amsterdam and it has left fans questioning if there is a collaboration on the cards.

After taking a hiatus to focus on his mental health, Carnage has made a huge comeback with a new outlook on his music and the platform it’s given his as an artist.

He is loyal to a number of charities close to his heart and is now building a second school in Guatemala.

For his latest single, ‘Letting People Go’, Carnage will donate $1 per save of the track on Spotify and Apple Music.

In 2018, 50,036 families were arrested trying to illegally enter the U.S. via the Mexican Border so Carnage has chosen to donate this money to RAICES – The Refugee and Immigrant Centre for Education and Legal Services.

He ends the video by standing alongside his grandmother with text stating: 

“Carnage is making a stand. He is now ambassador for RAICES Foundation. A portion of all revenue generated from, ‘Letting People Go’, will be donated to RAICES Foundation. A non-profit agency that provides free and low-cost legal aid to undeserved immigrant children, families, and refugeed.”
