EVERETT, WA (CelebrityAccess) — The Comcast Arena got a new name on Wednesday, but still the same sponsor. The arena is now known as the Xfinity Arena, to better match the new corporate identity of the venue's naming-rights sponsor, Comcast. The 10,000-seat arena, owned by the Everett Public Facilities District, and managed by Global Spectrum, first opened in October, 2003 after a $71.5 million buildout. In 2006, Comcast signed on for a ten year stint as the primary naming-rights partner for the venue in a deal reported at the time to be worth $7.
