As I said earlier today, I was surprised at how awesome it was to see nearly everyone in black on a red carpet. It’s like the single color not only signified how important this cause is, but it’s also made the features of the dresses stand out. There were virtually no garish colors, there were no prints, the weird embellishments were kept to a minimum, and it was so interesting to see how the different designers worked with that single color.

The Australian Open draw came out today and I can’t stop war-gaming the bottom half of the men’s side. The women’s side is a mess too – perhaps a glorious mess where Maria Sharapova could lose in the second round (insert sad clown noise). Of course, it’s also possible that Venus Williams could lose in the first round because she’s up against Belinda Bencic. Juan Martin del Potro could conceivably need to go through… Tomas Berdych, David Goffin, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic… and then play Rafael Nadal in the final.
The news about the latest measles outbreak keeps getting worse. To recap, Europe saw 30 times more measles cases in 2023 than it did in 2022, leading the UK to declare a “national incident.” Despite the US declaring measles eliminated in 2000, the country has also seen clusters of cases pop up in several states. In February, the World Health Organization warned that due to vaccination disruptions during Covid, more than half of the world will be at “high or very high risk” of an outbreak.
Meghan Trainor covers the March issue of Seventeen. She doesn’t have a full LP out yet. so she’s promoting the tuneage that keeps making me dive and turn off the radio. The “Lips Are Movin'” song — it’s a bit monotonous. Megan looks beautiful in the Seventeen shoot. The cover’s a little wonky, but the editorial is much better. In the interview, Meghan talks about how she coped with her overnight success.

Noella Bergener, one of the newest members of The Real Housewives of Orange County, has had quite the storyline this season.
She is currently feuding with Heather Dubrow (for reasons that haven’t been totally clear), while also dealing with her shocking divorce from James Bergener. She and James also have unresolved financial issues, which could throw a wrench in Noella’s OC dreams.
But things are looking up for the Housewife… it looks like she’s met someone new!
Steve Aoki and Desiigner, who recently collaborated with BTS on the track, “Mic Drop (Remix), received matching tattoos to commemorate their number one single together.
The tattoo, which includes a small image of a hand doing a “mic drop,” is marked on both Aoki and Desiigner’s upper left arm. It is meant to honor their hit single with K-pop group BTS titled “Mic Drop (Remix),” which debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in November.

Meet Atari, the Skunkfluencer you need to follow for good times.
And to clear the air, no, Atari doesn’t stink. Domestic skunks have their glands removed.
While if you check out her videos, she seems like she’s all action. But she does like to chill (which includes sleeping up to 23 hours a day!)
After sleeping, it seems snacking is Atari’s 2nd priority.
Zorro the Doggo has been Atari’s very, very patient roommate for years now.
Over the last week, there was a surprising amount of commentary and taking-stock articles about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. I think some of it was about Meghan’s birthday last Friday, and some of it was the general summer ennui of little to no real “royal gossip.” While many outlets focused on the Sussexes’ business and their plans for the future, the Sun and the Daily Mail have been fixated on a gossip story that they alone made up, a story which has no bearing on anything actually happening in Harry and Meghan’s lives.
