Blac Chyna wants to gain 100 lbs: Why should I watch my weight while pregnant?

Blac Chyna is feeling herself these days. She posted these Instagrams this week, showing off her pregnant belly in a clingy dress. The IG photos are cute, but Chyna is obviously working her angles, because in candid photos, her body looks a lot different. Chyna is definitely enjoying her pregnancy, much like Jessica Simpson enjoyed her first pregnancy, the one where Jess ate ALL the slutty brownies ever and gained something like 70-80 pounds. And much like Jessica Simpson circa 2012, I’m really tired of people calling Blac Chyna “fat.” I just have a thing about this: no one should call a pregnant woman “fat.” Ever. Chyna seems to feel the same way too – when she posted these IGs, she asked “Why should I watch my weight when I’m pregnant?”

Blac Chyna is enjoying her pregnancy. The soon-to-be Mrs. Kardashian took to Instagram to show her followers her growing curves, where she put her baby bump front and center. Chyna wanted everyone to know that she not only loves her changing body but she is also embracing it. “Why should I watch my weight when I’m pregnant,” she asked in the caption. Posing for another full-body photo, Chyna wrote, “Y’all Know That I Don’t Play.”

Just last month, the Lashed salon owner took to Snapchat to give her fans and followers a close look at her pregnancy diet. The delicious food, which included scrambled eggs with cheese and Cornish hens stuffed with butter, onions, sautéed kale and onions, are part of her diet to attain her goal weight. “My goal is to gain like 100 pounds this pregnancy,” she admitted into the camera. “I’m going to tear it up and then I’m going to snap back.”

While I don’t believe we should ever call a pregnant woman “fat,” I also think it’s sort of fair to judge Chyna based on statements she’s making publicly. While she has every right to do what she wants and eat how she wants, telling the world that you hope to gain 100 pounds while pregnant will of course bring criticism and comments. Gaining 100 pounds during a pregnancy is unhealthy, full-stop, even if you’re convinced that you can “snap back.” Chyna is also built like the Jessica Simpsons and Kim Kardashians of the world, and those short, curvy women are never going to have lithe, small pregnancies, so maybe Chyna is just “leaning in” to a certain extent. It does feel like Chyna is going out of her way to gain weight though? Maybe she’s hoping to score a weight loss contract after she gives birth. In which case, we’re playing straight into her hands!
